A personal note from Jean Stanberry-
Hello! Sending out a big thank you to all my faithful readers. I enjoy hearing from all of you. Thanks to you, this year sales have skyrocketed and I couldn't be more thankful for each and every one of you!
To those who have been asking when my next book will be coming out, the answer is hopefully in the next six months or so. Recently, I have had no time to write at all. My husband and I have recently bought a farm (quite the fixer upper) a new puppy and two yearling horses, so understandably, we have been quite busy. I also have a new job, which I am excited to say has regular hours and no call, so life is good.
With the long days of Montana summers now getting shorter and shorter I will be forced to spend more time inside. This being said, I will hopefully be writing more, though not until baseball season is over!
Jean has enjoyed literature and writing her entire life. In fact, she has been writing as long as she can remember, publishing her first work, a poem, when she was just 7 years old. Jean has juggled her life as a busy wife and mother working full time as a surgical nurse for many years. Thirteen years ago, Jean and her family left the hustle and bustle of their lifelong home town St. Louis, and moved to a charming resort town in Northwest Montana. Still, Jean's busy life didn't leave her much time to pursue her love of writing. Once Jean's children graduated from high school and she wasn't spending most of her free time driving them to activities, she began to pursue her love of writing again. First, part time as a guest blogger for International Figure Skating's website and writing features for Skating magazine and Fire on Ice magazine.
Jean's lifelong love of figure skating has taken her from a competitive and professional figure skater with "Holiday on Ice" to an award winning choreographer for multiple venues including "Holiday on Ice" and "Disney on Ice". Jean still loves to skate recreationally, but traumatic injuries sustained in a car accident effectively ended her career as a professional and competitive skater. Jean went on to graduate from Southern Illinois University with a degree in Business Management and Finance, working briefly as a stock broker and later as a finance manager for a St. Louis based corporation. When that company sold out to a Detroit based company, Jean had the option of following the company to Detroit, but she chose to stay behind in St. Louis and go back to school. She recognized this as the perfect opportunity to pursue what she really wanted to do, which was nursing. Jean attended nursing school at Jefferson College and later obtained her BSN from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. After working many years in a variety of nursing positions, Jean enjoys her job working as a registered nurse in surgery in a small rural hospital.
Jean also enjoys volunteering her time for a number of charities. She has volunteered her time and donated the proceeds of many of her books for the Thompson Fund, a charity which helps injured victims of drunk drivers with their recoveries. She has accompanied Canvasback Missions to the Marshall Islands for a medical mission, working as a surgical nurse helping the women of the island who needed GYN surgeries. Jean has also volunteered with "Expanding Your Horizons" aimed at seventh and eighth grade girls to encourage them to pursue careers in math, science and technology.
Jean lives on a small farm in northwest Montana with her husband Gary. They have two adult children Ryan and Lauren. They have a Golden Retriever named Molly, a German Shepherd named Arya a yearling Thoroughbred named Butterfly and a yearling quarter horse named Raven. The farm has a productive orchard which is also ideal for beekeeping, a hobby Gary likes to share with daughter Lauren. The entire family enjoys the great outdoors in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Montana. Their favorite activities are hiking, biking, kayaking, cross country skiing, rock climbing, boating and traveling. The family are still big Cardinals baseball fans and enjoy cheering them on whenever they get the chance!

Find out why critics are raving about One World United!
With her first novel Laying Low In Hollywood already a huge success, Jean Marie Stanberry has just released her newest novel One World United, a science fiction, futuristic romance with gripping political undertones that has everyone talking.
Set in the future, nearly one hundred years after the massive destruction of World War III, the Earth is finally starting to recover. In the wake of the war, the Earth's dwindling population huddled brokenly in war torn buildings, struggling to feed what was left of their families. In this time of despair, the United Government was formed, one central government which took control of the entire world. In their time of need the government gave it's people food and shelter and created jobs for them in a new, government centric society.
The citizens of the world had been so shell shocked by the many years of war, they never questioned the government's ultimate control. Their education, their career, even who they would marry was all decided by the United Government and their computerized management system. As time went on, even reproduction began to be controlled by the UG. Selective breeding, meant to enhance the physical and intellectual prowess of the human race, meant that all aspects of reproduction was also controlled by the UG.
Sion had never questioned the UG or their ultimate control, she'd never had any reason to, it was just how life was. Though her graduation from University set off a chain of events in her life she had no control over, which she finds quite troubling. In a matter of weeks she finds herself married to a man she has never even met before and shipped off to begin a new career on a continent that is completely foreign to her.
As distressed as she is, Sion is determined to make her new life work, till she meets Santiago, a brilliant, but angst ridden scientist, who seems to be destined to defy the United Government and be lost to their research facility forever. Sion can't help but find herself attracted to him, but they are both married to others. The New World demands perfection, there are no divorces or annulments, mates are selected on the basis of scientific data, to defy the United Government would be treason, a crime punishable by death...
